How API usage is billed
Updated over a week ago

Each of 2Chat's plans comes with an allotted API credit that will allow you to use the API either directly or by the use of an integration.

Every time the API is used, 1 credit is deducted from the pool of credits.

You can learn more about the quantity allotted to your plan by visiting our pricing page.

What constitutes a use of the API are the following:

  • Using the API directly by making requests to any of the endpoints it provides.

  • Webhook invocations: if you subscribe to any event, each invocation to the webhooks will deduct 1 credit. For example, if you subscribe to the whatsapp.message.received event, you will use 1 API credit for each message received.

  • Triggering Flow webhooks.

  • Integrations: all integrations use the API to function. For example, if you use Zapier to send a message, you will use 1 credit.

  • Tools: checking numbers, downloading and uploading WhatsApp catalogs, sending messages using Google Sheets, etc.

What doesn't constitute a use of the API:

What happens when API credits are exhausted?

We will send an email to the owner of the account when the quota reaches 90% and a subsequent update of its use every day once this limit is surpassed.

If you reach 100%, all API invocations including webhooks, will stop working until you upgrade your account, your account is renewed for a new billing cycle, or you purchase more API credits.

How can I check my API credits consumption?

You can check the report we provide in the Dashboard.
