How to enable WhatsApp inbound calls on your WhatsApp Business API channel

Enable and use WhatsApp Business calling in 2Chat to handle inbound and outbound voice calls through your WhatsApp number.

2Chat supports voice calling through your WhatsApp Business API number. This feature uses Meta's WhatsApp Business Calling infrastructure to route incoming calls through 2Chat, where they can be managed, recorded, and routed using Call Flows (IVR).

WhatsApp calling is only available for Meta direct channels. Gupshup-based channels and channels in coexistence mode do not support this feature.

Enable WhatsApp calling

  1. Go to Channels in the main menu and open your WhatsApp Business API channel.

  2. Start configuration

What you can do with WhatsApp calling

  • Receive inbound calls from customers on your WhatsApp number.

  • Route calls through a Call Flow (IVR) with menus, transfers, and voicemail.

  • Record calls and access call history from 2Chat.
