2Chat includes a built-in template manager for your WhatsApp Business API channels. You can create, view, sync, and monitor the approval status of all your templates directly from the platform.
Accessing the template manager
Go to Channels in the main menu and open your WhatsApp Business API channel.
Click the Templates tab. You will see all existing templates and their current status: Approved, Pending, or Rejected.
Creating a template
Click the Create template button and fill in the required fields:
Name: Use lowercase letters and underscores only (e.g.,
order_confirmation).Category: Choose between Marketing, Utility, or Authentication.
Language: Select the language of the message content.
Body: Write your message. Use
{{1}},{{2}}for dynamic variables such as names or order numbers.Header and footer (optional): Add a text, image, or document header, and a short footer.
Once submitted, the template enters Pending status while Meta reviews it.
Approval times vary. Meta usually approves templates within hours, but in some cases the review can take several days. You cannot use a template in campaigns or automations until its status changes to Approved.
Syncing templates from Meta
If you created or modified templates directly in Meta Business Manager, click Sync to import the latest templates into 2Chat.
Rejected templates
Rejected templates cannot be resubmitted for review. You must delete the rejected template and create a new one that complies with the WhatsApp Commerce Policy. The most common reasons for rejection include:
Promotional content categorized as Utility.
Variables without sufficient context (e.g.,
{{1}}without making clear what it represents).Content that violates Meta's advertising or commerce policies.
