When a WhatsApp user deletes a message they sent, 2Chat automatically updates the corresponding message in Slack to reflect the deletion.
What you will see in Slack
The original message content is replaced by the following notification:
ℹ️ This message was deleted by the sender.
The original content is no longer visible. The message thread in Slack is preserved — only the specific message is replaced.
Bidirectional support
This feature also works in the other direction: if a message is deleted in Slack, the corresponding WhatsApp message will also be deleted.
Scope
Works for both individual chats and WhatsApp groups synced with Slack.
Available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Only applies to messages that were originally synced to Slack. Messages deleted before the integration was active are not affected.
